Quantum Science & Tech Faculty; Tenure-Track

The College of Engineering (COE) and the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA) at the University of Michigan invite applications for full-time tenure-track or tenured positions in quantum science and technology to begin August 28, 2023. As part of an initiative in quantum science and technology at the University, 8 new faculty will be hired. These faculty can be rostered in the following departments (jointly if appropriate): LSA/Physics, COE/Electrical and Computer Engineering, LSA/Math, COE/Computer Science and Engineering, LSA/Chemistry, COE/Materials Science and Engineering, depending on the best fit for the applicant.

The appointment is based on a 9‑month academic year.

• Materials should include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement of teaching philosophy and experience, statement of current and future research plans.
• Additionally, please include a personal statement and diversity statement that demonstrates your commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through scholarship/research, and/or teaching/mentoring, and/or service/engagement.
• Applicants at the assistant professor level should also submit names and contact information for at least three letters of reference.
• For applicants above the rank of assistant professor, teaching evaluations and other evidence of teaching excellence should be included.
• All applicants are invited to create a Sci Cast of their research to attach to their application.
