Student employees in the Welding Technologies Program will assist instructors and lab assistants during class times and help prepare and maintain the lab before and after classes.
Responsibilities- Provide information on lab safety to students and visitors
- Ensure that lab safety procedures are followed at all times
- Ensure that the lab is clean, orderly, and properly prepared for each class
- Assist students, faculty, and lab assistants during class time as requested
- Assist in maintaining lab equipment
- Assist in inventorying and maintaining supplies for the lab
- Complete work requests for faculty and lab assistants
- Work with faculty and lab assistants on projects as requested
- Other responsibilities as needed
- Dependable, self‑starter, outgoing, fast learner, and able to work in a fast‑paced, rapidly changing environment
- Student in the Welding Program
- May require daytime and evening hours
- Applicants who are eligible to receive Federal Work‑Study awarded by LCC Financial Aid will be given priority consideration
- Enrolled and actively attending Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 6.0 credits minimum (taken over 16‑week period)
- Enrolled and actively attending Summer Semester = 3.0 credits minimum (taken over 8‑week period)
- 2.00 GPA minimum (unless it’s the student’s first semester of enrollment at LCC and/or granted approval to waive requirement from the Student Employment Coordinator)
- High School Diploma or GED
- Actively pursuing a certificate, associate’s, or undergraduate degree at Lansing Community College
- International students (F‑1 visa holders with valid I‑20 issued by LCC) must meet the following minimum enrollment requirements each semester:
Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 12.0 credits minimum (taken over 16‑week period);
Summer Semester = 3.0 credits minimum (taken over 8‑week period)
