PositionSummary
In pursuit of this mission, we are hiring a Building Guest Teacher who will ensure our students receive world‑class instruction in all content areas. Guest Teachers fill much‑needed gaps on our instructional teams when there are long‑term absences from certified teachers. Similar to all other teachers, they work to build safe, nurturing classrooms where students can be themselves and work collaboratively toward common learning goals.
This role in particular will be assigned to Mt. Hope, and you will fill openings in the building as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements- 60 college credits
- Associate’s degree
- Previous successful elementary teaching experience in an urban setting
- Interest in pursuing teaching as a long‑term career
- Demonstrate passion for and expertise of elementary content areas
- Provide world‑class instruction in literacy, math, and other content areas to elementary students
- Use data to guide and effectively differentiate instruction
- Learn and grow by incorporating feedback from school leaders, colleagues, students, and professional development sessions
- Build relationships with students and parents to ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment
- Be open to changes in assignment as needed
- Other duties as assigned to best support the Lansing School District mission
