Position Responsibilities:
- Develops, maintains, and actualizes long range and daily instructional plans.
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students and provides a learning climate for the students.
- Assumes responsibility for the safety, conduct and health of the students under his/her supervision.
- Ensures physical upkeep of the classroom and equipment is maintained.
- Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and, in harmony with the goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects and the like to communicate these objectives to students.
- Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis, provides progress reports as required and communicates with parents as deemed necessary.
- Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
- Strives to implement by instruction and action the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
- Serves on building and district committees that develop curriculum and enhance instruction.
- Maintains and updates accurate records pertaining to student attendances, assessments, reports cards, and documents as required by the Board of Education using the prescribed formats.
Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with an EQ or EX endorsement required.
- Experience teaching in an urban school district preferred.
Salary: $51,500 - $87,883
Contract:
188 Days (10 Months)
