Job Description Summary

Quality Engineer is responsible for researching, testing, and evaluating the design, functionality, and maintenance of products, equipment, systems, and processes. This role develops and maintains quality standards to ensure product integrity, reliability, and compliance throughout manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, review, and approve inspection methods, sampling procedures, and documentation for recording and reporting quality data.
  • Evaluate the accuracy and precision of production, testing, measurement, and analytical equipment.
  • Plan, implement, and maintain quality standards for materials, processes, and finished products.
  • Conduct dimensional analysis, validation, and optimization activities for manufactured components and assemblies.
  • Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles to support robust product and process performance.
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, maintenance, and quality teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Develop and maintain dimensional control plans and quality strategies using process engineering methodologies.
  • Perform Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and implement corrective actions related to quality risks.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including waste reduction and process optimization efforts.
  • Lead or support quality improvement projects and provide guidance to cross-functional teams.
  • Train and mentor team members on quality control methods and best practices.
  • Analyze defect trends, scrap data, and quality performance metrics to drive corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable quality management standards and internal procedures.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and GD&T.
  • Experience with dimensional measurement systems and quality tools.
  • Proficiency with CAD or other engineering-related software.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration, leadership, and project coordination abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and continuous improvement.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline required.
  • Minimum of 4–8 years of experience in quality engineering, dimensional engineering, or manufacturing quality.
  • Experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing environments is preferred but not required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
  • Experience with PFMEA and process engineering methodologies.
  • Familiarity with value stream mapping and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Exposure to human–machine interface considerations in manufacturing environments.
  • Experience leading quality-related projects or cross-functional initiatives.
