Position: Postdoctoral Scholar-Fixed Term
Position Summary
Conduct research tasks under the supervision of Dr. Joodaky (e.g. data collection, modeling, simulation).Assist with analysis of materials and dynamics relevant to packaging.Support ongoing research projects; may participate in modest independent sub-projects as time allows, always aligned with supervisor direction.Operate and maintain lab equipment in packaging dynamics.Assist in preparing results for publication / presentation; coauthoring as appropriate.Attend the related internal and external (e.g. conferences) meetings and present the studies. Required Degree
Doctorate
-Mechanical, Civil Engineering, Material Science
Minimum Requirements A PhD in Mechanical, Civil, Materials, Aerospace Engineering (focus on solid mechanics, dynamics / vibrations).Proficiency in Matlab and/or Python.Experience in Finite Element Method modeling (Abaqus, Ansys) or similar.Basic familiarity with machine learning (preferred).Some record of research output (e.g. peer-reviewed papers, conference abstracts) or demonstrable research capability.Desired Qualifications
Familiarity with packaging structures (corrugated boards, polymer foams).Knowledge of nonlinear dynamics, signal processing, composite mechanics, control theory and Energy Harvesting.Hands-on lab experience: DIC, universal testers, accelerometers, shaker tables, vibration instrumentation.Advanced/ deeper knowledge of machine learning.Some exposure to fluid mechanics or multi-physics modeling.Required Application Materials
