Responsibilities- Collaborate with project stakeholders to define the structural scope, objectives, and requirements for facility-related projects.
- Perform structural analysis and design for industrial and manufacturing structures using steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry, ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
- Develop accurate, cost-conscious solutions by applying knowledge of materials, labor, and construction methods to structural systems.
- Review and provide feedback on design drawings and models to verify accuracy, structural integrity, and adherence to project requirements.
- Prepare clear construction specifications outlining materials, methods, and quality standards for structural components.
- Compile coordinated construction document packages, including drawings, specifications, and supporting documentation for issue to contractors.
- Support quality assurance by checking structural designs and documents for compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required.
- PE license strongly preferred (effectively required for leading projects); ability to obtain or maintain licensure in multiple states is a plus.
- 5–10 years of structural engineering experience, preferably with facility-related and industrial projects.
- Strong experience with steel and concrete design; exposure to masonry and wood structures is highly valuable.
- Proficiency with Revit; experience with structural analysis tools such as RAM (or similar) is preferred.
- Strong understanding of building codes, ASCE loading requirements, and current steel and concrete codes.
- Proven ability to develop creative, practical structural solutions tailored to different project types.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey structural concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills, close attention to detail, and a commitment to thorough, high-quality drawings and calculations.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a busy, project-driven environment and function effectively as part of a small, collaborative structural team.
