We are looking for a Development Project Manager for a renewable energy project in the northeast area of Michigan.
Responsibilities- Manage the development activities for obtaining the required renewable energy projects permits and land.
- Lead the origination of new business opportunities locally to add new projects to the company portfolio.
- Manage locally co-development contracts and relationships with external developers or external engineering companies to ensure timely and budget‑friendly deliveries, while adhering to company guidelines and policies.
- Manage relationships with stakeholders:
Public Authorities, Landowners, Grid operators, etc. - Discussion and agreement of technical and commercial specifics internally.
- Monitor project delivery times and implement best practices.
- Create and maintain project reporting.
- Ensure a structured documentation archive.
- Collaborate with internal functions (Legal, Controlling, Engineering, Interconnection, Construction etc.) in order to successfully develop the assigned projects and in accordance with group procedures and guidelines.
- Follow the authorization procedure of the projects, relating constructively with the Authorities and the territory.
- Support the internal functions for the drafting of EPC and O&M contracts for the construction and maintenance of the plant.
- Support the investment and M&A team on specific aspects of due diligence and acquisition documentation.
- Ensure constant updating about regulatory and authorization frameworks at local, state and national level.
- Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, Environmental, etc.) or Architecture.
- Previous experience in renewable energy sector, minimum 4 years leading project developments.
- Experience in the evaluation of territorial planning tools (local, state and national) and authorization legislation in the field of renewable energy.
- Knowledge of the legislation concerning connections to the MISO’s electricity grid and of the procedural aspects of connection process management.
- Well‑developed intercultural and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with some support from the head office.
- Proactive person, ability to identify new business opportunities.
- Good professional contacts.
- User of Microsoft Office, Google Earth, basic knowledge of AutoCAD.
