Niowave is an engineering playground where you will be engaged in supporting processes across multiple major programs that have a direct impact on cancer patient survival.

The Manufacturing Engineer provides manufacturing engineering support for Niowave’s linear accelerators, hot cells, and radiochemistry equipment, including fabrication and assembly involving specialized alloys such as niobium and other high‑performance materials. The role of the manufacturing engineer centers around producing timely results that are high quality and accurate. Benefiting from an analytical, inquiring and critical mind, this job requires imagination and strong problem‑solving skills, but with a strong technical orientation.

  • Develops, documents, and improves manufacturing processes for machined parts, fabricated assemblies, and integrated systems supporting accelerators, hot cells, and radiochemistry equipment
  • Creates and maintains manufacturing documentation such as work instructions, routers/travelers, inspection points, bills of process, and standard work
  • Defines process controls, tooling/fixture requirements, and acceptance criteria to ensure repeatable, high‑quality outcomes
  • Supports material selection, sourcing inputs, and process considerations for specialized alloys (including niobium) and demanding applications (e.g., vacuum compatibility, high cleanliness, fit‑up/tolerance stack‑up)
  • Leads and participates in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews; provides actionable feedback to improve manufacturability, cost, cycle time, and quality
What you need to succeed…
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field) or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, production engineering, or process engineering in a regulated, high‑reliability, or precision manufacturing environment including the following:
    • Developing manufacturing documentation (work instructions, travelers/routers, inspection points, and standard work)
    • Supporting machining and fabrication operations, including defining tooling/fixture requirements and inspection methods
    • Driving root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
