Land Surveyor 9-P11 (Region Surveyor) – Superior Region
This Land Surveyor position is responsible for performing a variety of survey support assignments, applying education and experience while acquiring knowledge of the methods and procedures applicable to perform and review surveys under supervision as a member of the Region Survey staff. The role includes coordinating, training, and mentoring survey tasks for Superior Region employees, performing field surveys, processing survey data to complete design surveys, compiling and preparing Survey Information Sheets and Monument Preservation Packages for construction projects, and assisting the unit with Geographic Information System (GIS) data collection and supporting the administration of consultant contracts.
RequiredEducation and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree majoring in surveying.
- Experience:
- Land Surveyor 9:
No specific type or amount required. - Land Surveyor 10:
One year professional experience conducting land surveys equivalent to a Land Surveyor 9. - Land Surveyor P11:
Two years professional experience conducting land surveys equivalent to a Land Surveyor, including one year equivalent to a Land Surveyor 10.
- Land Surveyor 9:
- Possession of a valid driver’s license to perform surveying assignments.

All newly hired state employees must submit and pass a pre‑employment drug test, and a physical (if applicable), and have criminal and driving records checked. Background checks are conducted before appointment.
