Weld Systems Project Engineer Eligibility

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Provide essential support to the engineering team throughout the design and construction phases
• Interpret mechanical and control blueprints
• Analyze assembly processes, including layout and cycle time assessments
• Create detailed assembly process solutions, document processes with cycle time charts, and provide corresponding layouts
• Establish departmental standards and tools
• Execute various welding processes, such as resistance, MIG, projection, drawn arc, and mechanical fastening
• Select appropriate weld guns and specify weld gun electrode design and spot distribution
• Utilize video resources to validate, refine, and optimize process times
• Offer technical assistance to Mechanical Engineering Department Project Engineers
• Manage product and GD&T control, including station assemblies
• Assess machine ergonomics and maintain formal cycle time charts
• Update and maintain existing process documentation
• Monitor machine builds and buyoff to assess cycle times on the factory floor
• Utilize either Inventor or AutoCAD for developing tooling concepts and layout drawings
• Review and address customer inquiries and engineering changes
• Multitask effectively across multiple projects, meetings, and daily tasks
• Be flexible to work both in-office and occasionally at customer sites
• Coordinate with the simulation group from project initiation to completion
• Work within a moderately noisy environment

Qualifications:

• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• Possess at least 3 years of experience in Technical, Proposal & Estimating, Engineering, and Weld System Design
• Be willing to travel approximately 3% of the time, with occasional weekend and holiday work depending on project urgency
• Demonstrate proficiency in Mechanical and Controls
• Have working knowledge and proficiency in either Inventor or 3D AutoCAD
• Capable of occasionally standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching, talking, and hearing
