• Review customer technical specifications and requirements in preparation for the development of System Concepts, Costs, Risk Assessments, and Proposal Documents that define the content and functionality of the proposed Scope of Work.
• Apply practical conformance to the JRA Corporate Practices, Procedures and Tools specifically developed for the Applications Engineering Department.
• Coordinate and execute large multi‑business unit quotes.
• Manage core customers and develop internal win strategy and execution, understanding customer pain points, and facilitating quote package development toward a winning quote package.
• Generate and render conceptual solutions for customer problems which may have no previous or standard solutions in various CAD formats.
• Facilitate concept brainstorming, leading docket review meetings with little need of support from higher level AEs.
• Prepare and schedule preliminary and final internal and external audience quote package reviews such as concept solutions, cycle time charts, flow charts, risk assessments, system costs, proposed delivery schedule and potential customer requirements that demand management attention.
• Develop proposals that clearly and completely define the proposed Scope of Work, the rate of production, outline machine buy‑off requirements, identify customer part requirements through all project phases, and include appropriate assumptions and exceptions.
• Aid in the mentorship of less experienced apps engineers, Co‑ops & interns.
• Support account managers by ensuring pain points and competitive advantages are leveraged into the proposals.
• Travel independently or with an account manager and independently present in meetings to internal functional team members, upper level management and to customers.
• Maintain assignment‑specific AE related fields in company CRM.
• Schedule and facilitate project kick‑off meetings for PEP and support functional team members associated with a project by facilitating required tollgate meetings for awarded work and consulting with the PM for scope variation.
• Attend early phase design reviews to ensure conformance to "As Sold" Scope of Work.
• Perform additional duties as required by the role.

• 5–7+ years of industry experience leading successful projects, preferably in the automation industry.
• Proficiency in all applications engineering processes and tools.
• Background in automated manufacturing or industrial systems (Press/Stamping, Aerospace/Defense, General Industry/Consumer Goods Automation, Tire & Wheel Assembly, Energy (Battery Assembly), or Automotive General Automation).
• Experience in sales and/or customer interaction.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field or related industry experience.
• Mechanical or mechatronics engineering background (ideal).
• Similar qualifications to Applications Engineer II with higher levels of practical AE and leadership experience.
