Rf Antenna Designer
Now hiring an RF antenna designer who will be challenged with new technology and solution development for automotive antennas and related commercial infotainment products. This will include the design and development of specific antennas for automotive applications in infotainment, telematics, and related communications protocols.
You will explore the latest antenna/microwave technologies and track and monitor industry design trends to develop innovative solutions with challenging technical and product requirements. To cooperate with other internal functions to ensure your design can be implemented in leading/cutting edge products successfully. To draft technical specifications, design guidelines, and related documents for new solutions. Some travel will be required, including occasional international travel to Europe and Asia.
Approximately 10% to 15% of total work time may be dedicated to business travel to meet with customers and provide technical support for customer design activities.
We are looking for a recognized professional with experience in antenna technologies and applications specific to the automotive industry. (Antenna designers within other industries will also be considered)
Must have deep understanding of electromagnetic theory, microwave, and antenna design with some proficiency/hands-on skills with FEKO antenna simulation tool (or related tools such as Ansys HFSS, CST or MWS)
Practical knowledge of AM/FM, SDARS, GNSS, RKE, 4G/5G LTE, 802.11, Bluetooth, DSRC, and C-V2X, including the corresponding system level specifications is desirable, though we will consider candidates working in other commercial areas.
Experience of tackling key technical problems or innovative designs independently.
Proactive and self-motivated. Curiosity and sensitivity for science, technology, and engineering are essential.
Good team spirit and communication skills.
This position will require a variety of skills and cover many varied tasks; therefore flexibility, an ability to work independently, and move outside the comfort zone will be essential to success.
Fluency in both written and verbal English.
Qualifications:The ideal applicant holds a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Electrical Engineering, though an advanced degree in electromagnetics is highly preferred. 5 years or more of experience in automotive RF with at least 3 years experience in antenna design is ideal.
