Control Design Engineer

I'm recruiting for an experienced Controls Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team that develops advanced machine tool control systems supporting high-volume manufacturing environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys taking projects from concept through design, programming, startup, commissioning, and customer acceptance while working in a collaborative, innovation-driven environment.

• Lead the design of machine control systems that meet customer and engineering specifications
• Develop electrical control architectures with a focus on safety, reliability, simplicity, and cost effectiveness
• Program PLCs and machine controllers to meet operational and performance requirements
• Create and review electrical schematics, control layouts, and supporting documentation
• Coordinate design reviews with cross-functional engineering teams
• Manage project documentation, approvals, and engineering records
• Source electrical control components and support procurement activities
• Work closely with manufacturing teams during machine build, startup, and debugging phases
• Support equipment installation, commissioning, and customer acceptance activities
• Provide technical support to service, sales, and parts teams as required
• Research emerging technologies and recommend improvements to future machine designs

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Controls Engineering or a related field
• 5 to 7 years of controls engineering experience within machine tools, automation, or a related industry

• Strong experience designing and programming industrial control systems
• Working knowledge of:
• Fanuc PLCs
• Solid Works
• EPLAN and/or AutoCAD Electrical
• HMI software
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows-based systems

• Experience supporting internal combustion engine, powertrain, or automotive manufacturing applications
