Hardware Engineer

Employment: Full-Time, Hybrid (4 Days in Office)

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Hardware Design Engineer to join a global Tier 1 automotive supplier specializing in electronic locking, car access, and authorization systems.

This position will be responsible for the design, development, analysis, and validation of automotive electronic hardware
, with a strong focus on ECU design, RF/wireless technologies, PCB development, and EMC.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop automotive ECU hardware, including schematics and circuit designs.
• Work with microcontrollers, voltage regulators, high/low-side drivers, CAN/LIN interfaces, and communication circuits.
• Support RF/wireless hardware
  , including Bluetooth/BLE, NFC, and UWB technologies.
• Perform RF link-budget, receiver sensitivity, transmit-power, and range analysis.
• Support antenna selection, placement, tuning, and vehicle integration.
• Work closely with PCB layout teams on grounding, shielding, controlled impedance, isolation, and signal integrity.
• Perform EMC/EMI analysis, testing, troubleshooting, and design improvements.
• Conduct worst-case, thermal, ESD, transient, and reliability analyses.
• Develop and maintain DFMEA, DVPR, EMC test plans, and other engineering documentation.
• Support hardware/software integration, verification, and validation.
• Work directly with OEM customers and engineering teams to address technical issues and defend design decisions.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams across North America, Europe, and Asia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related field.
• 3+ years of automotive electrical/electronic hardware design experience.
• Experience designing and analyzing automotive ECUs or electronic modules.
• Strong experience with circuit design, schematics, PCB design/layout, and EMC/EMI
  .
• Experience with RF/wireless technologies and antenna development strongly preferred.
• Experience with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, K-Line, or ISO
  9141
  .
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interact directly with customers and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Willingness to travel to Germany approximately 2–3 times per year
  , typically for 1–2 weeks.
