Section Viola

Lansing Symphony Orchestra Lansing, Michigan, United States The Lansing Symphony Orchestra is seeking musicians for the Section Viola position. Auditions will be conducted on September 8th from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Wharton Center, located on the Michigan State University campus. Candidates must submit their resumes along with an audition deposit to the provided email or by mailing it to the LSO office.

The Final date to receive applications is August 31, 2026.It is important to note that if a candidate fails to attend the audition or does not notify the operations coordinator of a cancellation at least one week in advance, they will forfeit their audition deposit of $20. The LSO operates on a per service basis, with the principal per service rate set at $137.68 for the  season.

Additional compensation for travel and parking will be provided for musicians traveling from outside the Lansing area.

The LSO offers a diverse range of performances, including 5 Master Works and 3 Pops concerts each season, as well as chamber series, educational performances, neighborhood concerts, summer concerts, and a special Winterlude performance. These events create numerous opportunities for musicians to showcase their talents.
