Job Description

The Controller is responsible for supporting the efficient operations of the accounting department, with particular emphasis on reconciliations, cash flow projections & financial statements. Reporting directly to the Managing Partner, the Controller will also compile necessary financial reports in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner.

Controller Responsibilities:

• Prepare bi-weekly payroll records and submit for payroll processing.
• Prepare reports for sales and occupancy tax returns.
• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements, including monthly and annual reports.
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly and year-end close.
• Compile information, as requested, for internal audits.
• Reconcile all house bank accounts monthly to the balance sheet.
• Ensure all financial records are maintained in compliance with Company policies and procedures.
• Assist with Accounts Payable or Receivable job functions, as necessary.
• Review/research guest folios to determine legitimacy of charges / chargebacks with Bookkeeper.

Minimum Requirements
:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years in the hospitality, hotel, or real estate industry
• Technologically savvy, possessing a strong knowledge of all Microsoft Office software
• Proficiency in Quick Books is required
• Demonstrated ability to work with maximum accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail, always maintaining a keen sense of urgency.
• Must be self-directed, motivated, and demonstrate exceptional service, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
• Outstanding ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and openly in all interactions, both verbal and written.
• Keen problem-solving skills.
• Ability to exercise sound logic and judgment in evaluating situations and utilizing appropriate resources.
