Job Overview

The Michigan State Lottery, established under Public Act 239 of 1972, generates revenue through the sale of lottery tickets at retail locations and online to support Michigan’s public‑school system and education programs. The Lottery seeks a dependable, honest, motivated, and hardworking individual with a positive attitude and strong ethical standards to contribute to this mission.

• Lead the maintenance, review, analysis, and reconciliation of up to $50 million in advertising‑fund expenditures for traditional and digital gaming platforms.
• Audit and analyze procurement documents in the state‑wide SIGMA accounting system, ensuring proper classification and line allocation.
• Assist with approval and release of financial journal entries, vendor invoices, and inter‑agency payment documents in SIGMA.
• Serve as the financial data coordinator for FOIA and inter‑agency financial data requests.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field, with at least 12 semester (18 term) credits.
• Experience:
  
  Minimum of four years of professional experience equivalent to a Financial Analyst, including at least two years at the Financial Analyst P11, Accountant P11, or Auditor P11 level (or one year at the P12 level).
• Alternate qualification:
  Certificate in Public Accounting (CPA) may substitute for one year of P11 experience.

• Pre‑employment drug test as required by Civil Service Regulation 2.07.
