Departmental Analyst - Policy Analyst - CSA- Lansing

This position functions as a senior analyst within the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Child Welfare Policy and Legislation unit for Juvenile Justice. The senior analyst will be responsible for ensuring policy objectives related to juvenile justice (JJ) are met. This position is also responsible for legislative analysis and drafting of statewide communications.

Provide senior-level policy analysis and drafting support related to juvenile justice policy and legislation, ensuring alignment with program objectives and statewide communications requirements.

• Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree in any major.
• Experience: Departmental Analyst 12 — Three years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the experienced (P11) level in state service. Departmental Analyst 9–12 — Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.

  In 300 words or less, draft a brief policy memo outlining one recommendation to improve case management. Base your answer on existing challenges or research.

• Position Location/Remote Office: The physical location is 235 S. Grand Avenue, Lansing, Michigan 48933. Based on operational needs, remote work and hybrid schedules may be considered. Selected candidates must work within Michigan.
• Equipment and remote-work requirements: Employees may be provided computers; if remote, employees must provide other remote-office components including: a secure, private work location; high-speed internet (minimum 25 Mbps download, 5 Mbps upload); suitable lighting, furniture, and utilities.
