Resource Analyst 12 – Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program (MAEAP) & Regenerative Agriculture Program (RAP)
Role OverviewActs as the regional lead for MAEAP and RAP within a designated portion of Michigan, providing leadership, coordination, and technical support to Conservation Technicians funded through CTAP grants.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate conservation efforts and deliver technical assistance across Michigan.
- Work closely with Conservation Technicians to ensure effective implementation of program deliverables, including MAEAP verification and regenerative practice adoption.
- Conduct on‑farm evaluations, approve verifications, and oversee technician progress ensuring conservation practices meet standards.
- Lead outreach and education efforts to promote regenerative agriculture practices, building relationships with farmers, stakeholders, and industry partners.
- Support market development for regenerative producers, identifying market opportunities for regeneratively produced products.
- Provide regional leadership in coordinating MAEAP programming, engaging with local partners, and supporting continuous improvement efforts.
- Contribute to data tracking and reporting, monitoring technician progress, and coordinating verification activities.
Supports Hillsdale, Lapeer, Lenawee, Macomb, Monroe, Washtenaw, and Wayne Counties. Candidate must reside within one of these counties.
Required Education & ExperienceEducation: Bachelor’s degree in a physical, biological, or natural resource science, resource management, resource planning, engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- Resource Analyst 9:
No specific experience required. - Resource Analyst 10:
One year of professional experience in the protection, development and maintenance of land, water, or natural resources. - Resource Analyst P11:
Two years of professional experience in the protection, development and maintenance of land, water, or natural resources, including one year equivalent to the intermediate (10) level in state service.
