Position: Resource Analyst 9-P11, 12 (Field Coordinator)

Resource Analyst 9-P11

The Resource Analyst supports the Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program (MAEAP) and the Regenerative Agriculture Program (RAP) by coordinating conservation efforts and providing technical assistance across Michigan. The position works closely with Conservation Technicians funded through CTAP grants to ensure effective implementation of program deliverables, including MAEAP verification and regenerative practice adoption. The analyst offers outreach and education to farmers and stakeholders and collaborates with partners.

The role also supports market development for regenerative producers and completes MAEAP Verifications. Additional responsibilities include monitoring technician progress, coordinating verification activities, and contributing to data tracking and reporting. By integrating support across both programs, the analyst enhances program alignment, strengthens field operations, and promotes regenerative agriculture and environmental stewardship throughout Michigan.

Resource Analyst 12

This position serves as the recognized regional lead for both the MAEAP and the Regenerative Agriculture Program (RAP) within a designated portion of Michigan. The Resource Analyst provides leadership, coordination, and technical support to Conservation Technicians funded through the CTAP grant, ensuring effective implementation of program deliverables. For MAEAP, the analyst conducts on-farm evaluations, approves verifications, and oversees technician progress to ensure conservation practices meet established standards.

The position also provides regional leadership in coordinating MAEAP programming, engaging with local partners, and supporting continuous improvement efforts. For RAP, the analyst serves as a subject matter expert, leading outreach and education efforts to promote regenerative agriculture practices. The role includes building relationships with farmers, stakeholders, and industry partners, and collaborating with MDARD’s Agriculture Development staff to identify market opportunities for regeneratively produced products.

This position plays a key role in advancing environmental stewardship, supporting technical staff, and expanding the reach and impact of MAEAP and RAP across Michigan’s agricultural communities.

Location: This position will support Hillsdale, Lapeer, Lenawee, Macomb, Monroe, Washtenaw, and Wayne Counties. The selected candidate must reside within one of these counties.

Education

Possession of a bachelor's degree in a physical, biological, or natural resource science, resource management, resource planning, engineering, or a related field.

One year of professional experience in the protection, development and maintenance of land, water, or natural resources.

Resource Analyst P11

Two years of professional experience in the protection, development and maintenance of land, water, or natural resources, including one year equivalent to the intermediate (10) level in state service.
