Job Overview
Statewide Specialist for Juvenile Justice partnership and diversion within the public behavioral health system. Located in Lansing, MI with flexible/hybrid remote work options.
Responsibilities- Create and recommend programming, policies, and procedures that promote juvenile justice diversion in the public behavioral health system.
- Develop, analyze, and oversee ongoing grant‑funded and other program operations; recommend policy modifications for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
- Represent the bureau as the recognized expert, serving on advisory committees and subcommittees, providing recommendations and engaging in subcommittee work projects.
- Develop and plan strategic initiatives and events to promote cross‑system education, collaboration, and partnerships to divert children and youth with behavioral health needs from the juvenile justice system.
- Coordinate and provide consultation with other juvenile‑justice initiatives within and outside the department.
- Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
- Bachelor's degree in any major.
- Experience working or collaborating with children and families in the community mental‑health system.
- Minimum of three years of county‑based juvenile justice experience with children, youth, and families.
- Ability to document relevant experience and education in resume, transcript, and application.
- Use of artificial intelligence software is prohibited in all areas of the selection process.
- Successful completion of a background investigation and criminal records check is required.
