Position Summary
This statewide specialist is responsible for advancing juvenile justice partnership and diversion services within the state public behavioral health system. Duties include creating programming and policies; managing grant‑funded and other program operations; representing the bureau on advisory committees; developing strategic initiatives that promote cross‑system collaboration and partnership. The role also coordinates with juvenile justice initiatives to divert children and youth with behavioral health needs.
Responsibilities- Create and recommend programming, policies, and procedures that promote juvenile justice diversion in the public behavioral health system.
- Develop, analyze, and oversee ongoing grant‑funded and other program operations, and recommend policy modifications to improve service efficiency and effectiveness for the juvenile justice population.
- Represent the bureau as the recognized expert, provide recommendations, and participate in advisory committees and subcommittee work projects.
- Develop and plan strategic initiatives and events to promote cross‑system education, collaboration, and partnerships that divert children and youth with behavioral health needs from the juvenile justice system.
- Coordinate and provide consultation with other juvenile justice initiatives within and outside the Department for children and youth with behavioral health needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in any major.
- Four years of professional experience, including two years at P11 level or one year at advanced level.
- Relevant experience and/or education as documented in resume, transcript, or application.

The position is located at 333 S. Grand Ave, Lansing, MI 48933. Remote or hybrid work is possible within Michigan, subject to operational needs and approval.
