Endoscopy Tech

Schedule:

Full Time / Days. On-call coverage 1 week/weekend approximately every 4-5 weeks.  call hours on weeknights, 24/7 on weekends.

• Supports endoscopic procedures by preparing the equipment, field and managing specimens.
• Prepares patients for procedures by reviewing medical history, appropriately positioning patient and cleaning/shaving/numbing testing sites as appropriate.
• Interprets, describes and reports test results.
• Recognizes recording errors and artifacts and reacts appropriately.
• Monitors patient prior to, during and after procedures and promptly reports any abnormal findings in patient’s condition.
• Prepares and maintains equipment, supplies and lab area.

High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent. Graduation from an Accredited (CAAHEP/ABHES) Medical Assistant Program, Surgical Technician, Emergency Medical Tech training, preferred. Familiarity with endoscopy equipment or scope/instrument reprocessing, preferred. Minimal two years health care exposure in a similar clinic setting, preferred.

BLS required.
