Speech Language Pathologist

EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s Degree in Speech and Language required.
• Michigan Speech-Language Pathologist license required.
• Clinical Fellowship is encouraged to apply.
• Training and/or expertise working with students with disabilities in a school setting preferred.
• Strong, demonstrated interpersonal skills, both written and oral

• Serve as a resource to school staff in the development and implementation of a comprehensive speech and language program
• Assist and guide teachers in observing, documenting, and referring students with suspected speech and language impairments
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide diagnosis of speech, language, and voice impairments
• Determine student eligibility for services and develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including measurable goals and objectives
• Provide direct and consult speech-language therapy services based on individual student needs
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers to support student progress within the classroom setting
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team decision-making
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations
• Assist with referrals to outside agencies and specialists when appropriate
• Provide information, support, and guidance to parents and families regarding student progress and communication needs
