Travel Physical Therapist - Home Health
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a home health position in Aroostook County, Maine. The role requires at least one year of experience and a Maine or compact state license.
Assignment Overview- Shift: Days, 5x8 hrs (40 hrs/week)
- Start Date:
Mar 16, 2026 - Duration: 26 weeks
- Locations:
Aroostook County (potential travel 50‑100 miles per day) - Schedule:
Monday through Friday 08:00‑17:00; optional 4x10 hour shifts; weekend rotation every 4‑6 weeks (Saturday & Sunday) - 50% of major/minor holidays covered; no on‑call requirement
- No permanent position at any Northern Light Health hospital
- Home health patients aged adults with occasional school‑aged children
- Caseload approximately 20‑25 per therapist
- Primary diagnoses: post‑orthopedic surgeries, general post‑surgery recovery, fall risks, deconditioning, mobility issues
- Evaluate and treat home health patients as per rehabilitation needs
- Use Netsmart EMR for documentation (preferred experience)
- Collaborate with department schedulers, leads, and management via phone
- Maintain business casual attire or solid‑colored scrubs
- Report to management for time‑off requests
- Current Maine state license or applicable compact license
- Minimum one year of experience as a physical therapist
- BLS certification required
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Physical Therapy
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, auto insurance
- Experience with post‑op orthopedic, deconditioning, fall risk, portability patients preferred
- Flu vaccination required (start dates Sep 30, 2024 and later unless medical exemption)
- References from at least one supervisor, manager, or director within the past year
- Residency address at least 100 miles south or southwest of Bangor, ME
