Overview
Pride Health is hiring Medical Laboratory Scientist – Traveler to support our client’s medical facility based in Grand Rapids, MI. This is a contract job with a possible extension opportunity.
Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist – Traveler
Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Schedule: 2nd shift / 3rd shift
Pay Range/Salary Range: $2100 - $2300 per week
Contract Duration: 3+ months
Responsibilities- Perform specimen handling, processing, testing, and result reporting in accordance with laboratory procedures.
- Analyze specimens using approved high-complexity testing methods and review/release test results.
- Maintain accurate records of patient testing, proficiency testing, QC/QA activities, calibrations, and maintenance logs.
- Ensure compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory safety guidelines.
- Identify and resolve testing issues or escalate concerns to supervisors when needed.
- Report STAT and critical results following department procedures.
- Maintain laboratory organization, reagent tracking, and overall department appearance.
- Participate in training sessions, departmental meetings, inspections, and continuing education activities.
- Collaborate with other departments and provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients or staff.
- Protect patient confidentiality and adhere to all hospital and laboratory policies.
- Preferred qualifications include a BS in Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or related Laboratory Science field.
- ASCP/AMT certification eligibility and at least 1 year of clinical laboratory experience preferred.
- Must be able to prioritize tasks and manage multiple procedures simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Additional hospital requirements include a 10-panel drug screen, vaccination review, physical/medical clearance, flu shot, COVID vaccination, and valid professional licensure/certification.
