Company Description

Taylored' Therapy is a mental health practice dedicated to helping individuals heal from emotional trauma and build healthier, more fulfilling lives. The organization focuses on evidence-based approaches to trauma treatment, with particular emphasis on EMDR and related therapeutic modalities. Team members collaborate to deliver client-centered care that respects each person’s unique background, strengths, and goals.

Role Description

The EMDR Therapist will provide trauma-focused psychotherapy to clients, using EMDR as a primary modality and integrating other appropriate clinical approaches as needed. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting intake assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, facilitating EMDR sessions, and maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation. The therapist will collaborate with other providers as appropriate, participate in case consultations, and engage in ongoing professional development related to trauma and EMDR practice.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Lansing, MI, requiring consistent availability for scheduled client appointments and occasional team meetings.

Qualifications
  • Professional licensure (e.g., LMSW, LPC, LP, LMFT, or equivalent) in the state of Michigan, or eligibility to obtain licensure within a defined timeframe.
  • Formal EMDR training (basic training completed or in progress), with a strong interest in trauma-focused care and continued EMDR skill development.
  • Demonstrated experience providing individual psychotherapy, including assessment, treatment planning, and evidence-based interventions for trauma and related concerns.
  • Strong clinical documentation skills and familiarity with ethical standards, confidentiality requirements, and best practices in mental health care.
  • Ability to build rapport with diverse clients, maintain professional boundaries, and create a safe, non-judgmental therapeutic environment.
  • Interest in collaboration, openness to supervision and feedback, and commitment to ongoing learning in trauma-informed and culturally responsive care.
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Experience working with populations affected by complex trauma, PTSD, anxiety, or depression is highly beneficial; familiarity with complementary modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, mindfulness-based approaches) is a plus.
