Overview
CT Technologist - 24 hours weekly - Afternoon shift. Under general supervision, specializes in the performance of computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients. May perform general diagnostic radiology examinations. Performs related duties as required.
Responsibilities- Explains examination procedure to patients and prepares patient for the examination.
- Manually controls the equipment to obtain the proper diagnostic information from the area of the body being studied.
- Administers intravenous contrast media including the utilization of power injectors. Monitors patient for possible reactions as appropriate to the study and provides immediate care to patient if a reaction should occur.
- Prepare and set up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies required for the procedure to be performed. Ensures the adequate supplies are on hand and properly stored.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
- Must maintain the required hours of continued education.
- Healthcare Provider certification required.
- (BCLS) BLS Provider obtained within one (1) month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- One or more of the following:
- NMTCB credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- NMTCB (CD Computed Tomography Specialty Certification)
- or ARRT(CT) Radiologic Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography required in addition to CNMT Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification.
- Radiologic Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Must be registered in Computer Tomography within 12 months of date of hire.
- Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy specialty also accepted.
