Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson is seeking a personable, detail-oriented Clinic Medical Assistant or LPN to join our Primary Care team.

Our Primary Care Clinic is being completely renovated with an updated waiting area, exam rooms, and work spaces. We offer one-on-one training with an experienced team, a desirable Monday-Friday schedule (no weekends, holidays, or on-call shifts), and a comprehensive benefits package.

Job Summary

Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant functions as an important member of the healthcare team by providing basic clinical, clerical, and technical support to assist providers in planning for patients’ care, comfort, and safety.

Licensed Practical Nurse

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works under the direction of a primary care provider, as part of the healthcare team, and is responsible for providing general clinical nursing support. The individual is accountable for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the nursing care required for the patient and will assist in the development and revision of patient’s care plan.

Medical Assistant responsibilities include preparing instruments, equipment and materials for patient care, keeping exam rooms aseptic, documenting patient data, assisting with exams/tests/procedures, instructing patients, processing provider orders, scheduling, assisting with admissions when indicated, ensuring timely submission of charges, coordinating test results, using computer applications for patient care, processing prescriptions, communicating with patients, and maintaining attendance and competency requirements. Other duties as assigned.

LPN responsibilities include preparing instruments, equipment, and exam rooms, documenting patient data, assisting with exams/tests/procedures, providing patient instructions, performing basic procedures, completing clerical or insurance processes, communicating test results or prescriptions to patients, addressing patient concerns, participating in care planning, instructing patients/families, facilitating prescription fulfillment and prior authorizations, maintaining attendance and competency requirements, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Licensed Practical Nurse qualifications: Graduation from an accredited LPN program;
Michigan LPN license;
Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA within 30 days of hire; for Wound Clinic, UHMS-certified wound care and hyperbaric medicine course within 3 months; ability to float to Wisconsin location with WI LPN license within 3 months if needed; CWCA certification within 3 ½ years for Wound Clinic; valid driver’s license and clean driving record if travel is required.

Medical Assistant qualifications: Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program or applicable on-the-job clinical experience; if MA program not completed, applicable on-the-job experience; BLS certification within 30 days of hire; driving eligibility if travel offsite;
Nationally certified or registered MA preferred.
