Role Overview
Marathon Health is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join a collaborative primary care team. Working closely with a physician, the role combines clinical care with front‑desk responsibilities to deliver an exceptional patient experience.
Responsibilities- Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure rooms are cleaned and fully stocked.
- Review prior medical information and gather updated patient data to inform the provider.
- Take vitals, perform blood draws, give injections, bandage wounds, and assist with procedures.
- Coordinate with contracted labs for additional testing.
- Prepare and administer approved medications and immunizations via oral, topical, inhaled, intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intradermal routes, following written orders.
- Collaborate with the care team to develop individual patient care plans, addressing gaps in care.
- Perform front desk duties: schedule appointments, request and abstract medical records, document visits, coordinate specialist referrals, and manage check‑in and check‑out procedures.
- Accurately record pertinent data in the medical record per documentation guidelines.
- Process test results and communicate timely results to patients via e‑message, mail, or phone as directed.
- Participate in patient outreach to encourage engagement among eligible groups.
- Maintain clinical supplies and equipment for treatments.
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in primary care.
- Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or related curriculum.
- State or national Medical Assistant certification or registration strongly preferred; required in states where certification is mandated.
- CPR/BLS certification required at the start of employment.
- Phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Competitive hourly pay: $21.00–$25.00 per hour.
