NOTICE OF OPENING:
Pharmacy Technician, Exploration into Health Careers and Anatomy and Physiology Instructor

• Bachelor’s Degree and Standard or Professional CTE Certificate in CIP code 51.0000 Health Sciences (Therapeutic Services) preferred.
• Or, if no Bachelor’s Degree or CTE certificate the ability to qualify for Annual Career Authorization which requires a minimum of 4,000 hours (within the last 10 years) of recent and relevant work experience in the Pharmacy/Health Industry.
• Possess PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) Certification or Equivalent
• Maintain program as a PTCB recognized education/training program.
• Prepare, manage, and execute the CPhT Certification process for students
• Experience teaching Pharmacy Technician courses
• Ability to teach Exploration in Health Careers and Anatomy & Physiology including instruction in healthcare systems, medical terminology, human anatomy and physiology, health information systems, therapeutic services, laboratory sciences, diagnostic services, and support services. Must be able to integrate concepts related to healthcare law, ethics, confidentiality, patient privacy, and the appropriate handing of patient information.
• Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification required, or ability to obtain certification within a specific timeframe. Must be capable of training, certifying and recertifying students in CPR, AED, and First Aid procedures.
• Experience in high school classroom instruction

• Responsible for planning, assessment, and instruction
• Implement curriculum according to the Michigan office of Career and Technical Education and district adopted curriculum.
• Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
• Interpret and use data from ongoing assessments to inform instruction.
• Participate in professional development and implement best practice.
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
• Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
• Collaborate with teachers and administrators to improve student achievement in the content areas.
• Annually update the TRAC/CIP Self-Review in GEMS, meeting district, county; state guidelines/timelines
• Hold two (minimum) program advisory committee meetings each year and provide required documentation.
