We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and clinically skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our growing outpatient practice. This position provides the opportunity to work with youth, adolescents, and adults experiencing a variety of mental health and substance use concerns, including individuals involved in the criminal justice system.

As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate closely with therapists, case managers, peer recovery coaches, and our Medication‑Assisted Treatment (MAT) provider to deliver coordinated, evidence‑based care. The role also includes working with specialty courts, probation and parole officers, attorneys, schools, Child Protective Services, and other community partners to support client recovery, treatment compliance, and successful outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized, person‑centered treatment plans.
  • Provide individual, family, and/or group psychotherapy.
  • Treat clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, substance use disorders, and co‑occurring mental health conditions.
  • Utilize evidence‑based interventions such as CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and trauma‑informed approaches. Additional evidence‑based interventions are welcomed and encouraged.
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with agency, insurance, and licensing requirements.
  • Participate in clinical supervision, case consultation, and team meetings.
  • Collaborate as an active member of a multidisciplinary treatment team to coordinate and deliver comprehensive, client‑centered care.
  • Work closely with the Medication‑Assisted Treatment (MAT) provider to coordinate care, monitor client progress, and support medication adherence as part of an integrated treatment approach.
  • Communicate and collaborate with case managers, peer recovery coaches, psychiatrists, primary care providers, and other community partners to ensure continuity of care.
  • Coordinate services with court systems, probation and parole officers, attorneys, specialty courts (e.g., Sobriety Court, Drug Court, Mental Health Court), Child Protective Services, schools, and other referring agencies as clinically appropriate.
  • Complete court reports, treatment updates, progress summaries, and other documentation required for legal or community stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.
  • Attend treatment team meetings, case consultations, staffing meetings, and court‑related meetings as needed to advocate for clients and support successful treatment outcomes.
  • Maintain professional relationships with referral sources and community partners to facilitate coordinated care and client success.
Qualifications (Required)
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Current Michigan licensure (LLMSW, LMSW, LPC, LLP, LP, or equivalent).
  • Ability to independently manage a caseload.
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
(Preferred)
  • Experience treating substance use disorders and co‑occurring mental health disorders.
  • Knowledge of Motivational Interviewing, relapse prevention, harm reduction, and stages of change.
  • Experience completing substance use assessments using ASAM criteria, and treatment planning.
  • Familiarity with Medicaid documentation requirements.
  • Experience providing treatment to individuals with co‑occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Knowledge of Medication‑Assisted Treatment (MAT), including collaboration with prescribing providers and supporting clients receiving medications for opioid and alcohol use disorders.
  • Experience working with court‑involved individuals, probation and parole populations, or specialty court programs.
  • Familiarity with criminal justice systems, court reporting requirements, and coordination with legal stakeholders.
