Athletic Trainer
Position: Athletic Trainer Reports To: Athletic Director Position Type: Full-Time, 11-Month Contract Salary: $55,000–$60,000, depending on experience Schedule: Approximately 40 hours per week with flexible scheduling based on the weekly athletic schedule and workload Benefits: Medical benefits, paid time off, sick time, and paid continuing education opportunities
Position OverviewClinton Community Schools is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Certified Athletic Trainer to provide comprehensive athletic training services for Clinton student-athletes.
The Athletic Trainer will work closely with the Athletic Director, coaches, student-athletes, parents/guardians, school personnel, and other healthcare providers to promote the health, safety, and well‑being of Clinton student-athletes. Clinton Community Schools has an established team physician who will work collaboratively with the Athletic Trainer and serve as a medical resource for consultation, referrals, medical oversight, and coordination of student‑athlete care as appropriate.
This is a full-time, 11-month position with a flexible schedule structured around the needs of the athletic department and interscholastic athletic calendar.

This position provides the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with student-athletes and coaches, have a direct voice in student‑athlete health and safety, and help shape and develop the athletic training services provided across Clinton Athletics. As a district‑employed Athletic Trainer, this individual will work directly with the Athletic Director and have an important role in the overall operation and continued growth of our athletic programs.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
- Current Board of Certification (BOC) certification as an Athletic Trainer .
- Current State of Michigan Athletic Trainer license or ability to obtain Michigan licensure prior to employment.
- Current CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain required certification prior to employment.
- Ability to practice within the professional scope of practice for athletic training and comply with all applicable local, state, and federal requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to remain composed and make appropriate decisions in emergency and high‑pressure situations.
- Ability to develop positive and professional working relationships with student‑athletes, parents/guardians, coaches, staff, administrators, and healthcare professionals.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and time‑management skills.
- Ability to use technology necessary for injury documentation, communication, reporting, and other responsibilities associated with the position.
Relevant athletic training experience in a secondary school or similar athletic setting is preferred.
