Social Worker - LMSW - Hospice

Job Title

Must have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling and possess the corresponding State of Michigan licensure. Candidates without a state license can be considered but must obtain state licensure (LLMSW, LLPC, TLLP, LMSW, LPC or LLP) within a 60-day training period beginning on the date of hire. This period may be extended by up to an additional 60 days of training at the sole discretion of the employer.

Failure to obtain licensure within the training period will result in the employee being unqualified to perform work functions. Beyond the training period, all state licensures must continually remain active, in effect, and free from disciplinary action.

Candidates must obtain the Qualified Mental Health Professional credential within 120 days of hire. Must have one year of experience (may include time spent in fieldwork or internship) treating or working with people who have been diagnosed with mental illness.

Must be able to work independently.

Must have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Must have excellent organizational and attention to detail skills in order to track and prepare data accurately and timely.

Must have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.

Cannot accept candidates who are on student/work visas, and/or require sponsorship to work in the U.S. at this time.

Additional requirements include: cultural competency, the ability to work effectively with a diverse population, the ability to engage and maintain therapeutic relationships with individuals and families in a variety of modes of treatment, the ability to develop collaborative relationships with other unit staff and providers, and a willingness to be flexible.
