Speech Language Pathologist – Part‑time

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1. Master’s degree in speech and language pathology from an accredited college or university.
• 2. Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in Speech Correction preferred and/or current Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
• 3. Evidence of successful clinical experience in communication disorders and language development at the school-age level.
• 4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and cooperatively with people.
• 5. Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with parents.
• 6. Must pass criminal background check as required by School Safety Legislation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• * Provide speech language intervention services to face‑to‑face and virtual learners.
• Instruct individuals in both large and small group language activities.
• Perform speech and language diagnostic testing.
• Write IEP goals and objectives and prescriptive activities based on results of diagnostic testing.
• Communicate and work with parents with respect to student’s language strengths and weaknesses

EVALUATION:

* Work effectively with a multi-disciplinary team. Building Principal and Director of Special Services Pursuant to the teacher contract To foster a school environment favorable to learning and personal growth by assisting students in meeting their fullest potential; to establish effective rapport with pupils; to motivate pupils to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for education in accordance with each pupil’s ability;

to promote a firm yet fair and positive approach to discipline; and to establish good relationships with parents, community, and with other staff members. Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
