Job Description & How to Apply Below

I am Sara, an Executive Consultant, with over 10 years of experience in executive recruitment and consulting for top-tier companies. Projekts is proud to collaborate with international clients, including (Fortune 500 companies), operating in more than 20 countries worldwide.

Are you looking for a truly strategic HR Business Partner role, right at the heart of industrial operations, where your decisions have a direct and visible impact on business performance? Join a fast‑moving, family‑owned international company, deeply rooted in industry and strongly customer‑oriented, where agility, speed of execution and empowerment are key drivers of success.

Reporting to the HR Director Americas and working in close partnership with Plant Managers, you support several plants in the greater Detroit area as a trusted HR Business Partner fully aligned with operational and financial goals. You sit at the decision‑making table, bringing a sharp, pragmatic HR perspective to all topics related to organization, staffing, leadership development and employee engagement.

Responsibilities

Your mission revolves around several high‑impact pillars:

  • Co‑design with Plant and Operations leadership robust HR roadmaps aligned with business objectives (productivity, quality, cost, delivery, customer satisfaction) and drive their execution with clear KPIs and measurable outcomes.
  • Challenge and coach managers on all “people” dimensions: targeted hiring, smart onboarding, capability building, performance management, handling sensitive situations, always keeping business impact and competitiveness in mind.
  • Identify key talents, build succession plans and development journeys to secure critical skills, support ramp‑ups, new programs and strategic projects.
  • Shape a constructive social climate by maintaining a strong on‑the‑floor presence, actively listening to teams, anticipating issues and building transparent, trust‑based relationships.
  • Lead people‑related change for transformation projects (organizational moves, continuous improvement initiatives, process changes, digitalization) by designing and rolling out clear change management plans, explaining the “why” and the “how”, and helping managers to bring their teams on board.

In this role, you are expected to be an agile, highly responsive HR Business Partner, able to move seamlessly from a strategic discussion with a Plant Manager to a very operational interaction with a supervisor or a shop‑floor employee, while keeping a strong, results‑oriented mindset.

Relational intelligence and strong business acumen

You hold a master’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Law, Business or a related field and bring solid experience as an HR Business Partner or HR Manager in an industrial environment, with intense interaction with operations and the shop floor. Beyond HR technical skills, your relational intelligence and sharp business sense will be your main assets.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Quickly build trust with a broad range of stakeholders (leadership, managers, production teams, external partners), adapting their communication style and level of detail to each audience.
  • Deeply understand the economic and operational drivers of an industrial site, translate them into HR priorities and clearly articulate your recommendations in terms of business impact.
  • Handle complex situations with composure, perspective and diplomacy, finding the right balance between empathy and firmness, between people care and performance requirements.
  • Thrive in a multi‑plant, multicultural environment where decisions are fast, priorities can shift, and where proactivity, creativity and the ability to decide and execute are highly valued.

Fluency in English is mandatory, French is a strong plus to interact with headquarters and some international stakeholders. Prior exposure to North American industrial environments and a good understanding of HR challenges in UIS and Mexico will be considered a real asset.
