The Michigan Department of Corrections seeks a Human Resources Analyst or Specialist for labor relations work on a statewide basis. The position administers and interprets union agreements (UAW, AFSCME, MCO, MSEA, MPE-UTEA) and civil service rules, represents the department in grievance proceedings, and is located in Lansing with hybrid work options after initial training. The final classification level (Analyst 9-12 or Specialist 13) will be determined by the preferred candidate's qualifications.
Keyqualifications
- Bachelor's degree in any major
- Professional HR experience (amount varies by level: Analyst 9 requires none; Analyst 12 requires 3 years; Specialist 13 requires 4 years)
- Experience with union agreement administration and interpretation
- Knowledge of grievance procedures and civil service rules
- Ability to represent the department in labor relations forums
- Departmental Trainee alternative path available with high school diploma and relevant ECP Group experience
