The Senior Software Test Analyst provides expert-level testing and quality assurance support across multiple applications and environments. This role focuses on designing and executing both manual and automated test cases, ensuring software quality through comprehensive test planning, defect tracking, and collaboration with Agile teams. The analyst will be responsible for validating functionality, performance, accessibility, and compliance while driving testing best practices across the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Testing & Quality Assurance
- Design and execute manual and automated test cases.
- Apply software testing methodologies such as UAT, SIT, Regression, Accessibility, Performance, Post Deployment Validation, and Data Conversion.
- Develop test plans, test strategies, reports, and testing metrics.
- Generate and acquire required test data.
- Perform ADA compliance testing using tools such as Acc Verify and JAWS.
- Conduct API testing using Postman, REST Client, and similar tools.
- Build test suites specific to DEV, UAT, QAT, and PRE-PROD environments integrated with ALM systems.
- Analyze requirements and user stories in Azure Dev Ops to design positive, negative, and boundary test cases.
- Document and track defects clearly in Azure Dev Ops.
- Perform performance and load testing using JMeter or Load Runner.
- Automation & Technical Skills
- Write clean, maintainable Java code for test automation.
- Automate web applications using Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar frameworks.
- Write effective Gherkin scenarios (Given/When/Then) and implement Java-based Step Definitions.
- Write SQL and P‑SQL queries for data validation across Oracle and SQL Server systems.
- Use Git for version control, merging, and pull requests within a team environment.
- Agile & Collaboration
- Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to refine requirements and design test coverage.
- Communicate test results, risks, and defects to developers, the client, and stakeholders.
- Work independently and within teams in a fast‑paced Agile environment.
- Security & Compliance
- Apply concepts of the Secure Application Development Lifecycle (SADLC) throughout testing workflows.
- Soft Skills & Other Requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work onsite in downtown Lansing two days per week.
- Required Experience
- 5+ years of senior‑level software testing and QA experience.
- Manual and automated test case design/execution.
- ADA compliance testing.
- Java‑based automation and version control (Git).
- SQL querying and data validation.
- Performance testing exposure (JMeter, Load Runner).
- API testing using Postman or similar tools.
- Agile/Scrum experience.
- Nice‑to‑Have Experience
- Azure Dev Ops Testing Module.
- Mobile app testing (iOS/Android).
- Playwright for Java.
- Experience using Eclipse.
- Selenium Web Driver expertise.
- TestNG framework experience.
- REST Assured or APIRequest
