Position: (IIB & ITX) Developer

Overview

The client is seeking a highly skilled Healthcare Integration Developer with strong expertise in IBM Integration Bus (IIB) / App Connect Enterprise (ACE) and IBM Transformation Extender (ITX). This role focuses on the design, development, and support of healthcare integration workflows and EDI mapping solutions, ensuring interoperability, compliance, and data integrity across healthcare systems.

Responsibilities
  • Support and enhance healthcare data integrations, including HL7 v2, FHIR, REST, and SOAP-based APIs.
  • Develop and maintain integrations aligned with healthcare interoperability and regulatory standards.
  • Transform and validate healthcare EDI transactions (837P/I, 834, 835, 997) with built-in compliance checks.
  • Troubleshoot message parsing, validation, routing, and data quality issues to ensure HIPAA compliance and accuracy.
  • Design, develop, and test WTX/ITX maps for EDI → JSON and JSON → EDI transformations.
  • Perform complex data transformations across XML, JSON, and EDI formats, including encryption and authentication.
  • Build and support secure RESTful and SOAP services using IBM IIB/ACE and API Connect.
  • Provide technical guidance on HL7 implementations, Rhapsody configurations, and ITX REST Server mapping strategies.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, contributing to solution design, technical estimations, and architectural discussions.
  • Collaborate closely with QA and Operations teams to ensure successful testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex integration issues across distributed healthcare systems.
Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.

Experience:

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience as an EDI / Integration Developer, preferably within healthcare IT environments.

Technical

Skills:

  • Strong expertise in IBM ITX mapping (EDI → JSON) and HIPAA compliance validation.
  • Solid understanding of HL7 v2.x, HL7 v3 / CDA, healthcare workflows, and regulatory requirements.
  • Working knowledge of FHIR, HIPAA, and healthcare security protocols.
  • Proficiency with IBM IIB / ACE, ITX, API Connect, SOA principles, Web Services, and XML technologies.
  • Knowledge of Databases, Java, and SQL, including SNIP Level 7 validation.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications
  • Rhapsody Integration Engine Professional Certification.
  • Experience designing and supporting EDI solutions for hospitals, clinics, and laboratories using Rhapsody.
  • Familiarity with Meaningful Use, HITECH Act, and clinical terminology standards.
