Reliance One, Inc. is hiring a Software Solutions Architect to support MDHHS Health Services and Enterprise Service Bus (HESB) initiatives. This role is critical to designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting healthcare integration solutions that enable secure, reliable data exchange across major state health systems.

Position Overview

The Software Solutions Architect will work under the direction of DTMB Customer Services, MDHHS, and cross-matrix technical teams to design and implement methodologies that track message transmission across the MDHHS Health Services ESB and support systems connecting to the Data Hub. This role plays an integral part in improving automated processes, ensuring data integrity, maintaining SEM/SUITE compliance, and securing enterprise healthcare applications.

The resource will also provide technical oversight and guidance to business analysts and integration teams working with the Health Enterprise Service Bus (HESB).

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop solutions for new healthcare integration use cases
  • Develop interfaces based on business requirements and technical specifications
  • Translate business requirements into technical designs and system architectures
  • Create and maintain custom filters using Rhapsody Developer Kit (RDK)
  • Develop mappers and mapper definitions using EDI Message Designer
  • Write JavaScript (v1 and v2) filters within Rhapsody
  • Develop and support API integrations using SOAP, REST, and web services
  • Perform data format translations (HL7 v2/v3, FHIR, CCDA, XML, JSON, flat files)
  • Support CDA mapping and conversion efforts
  • Prepare SUITE SDLC documentation and code review materials
  • Develop and maintain database connections (MS SQL and Oracle)
  • Configure TCP, HTTP, LLP, OAuth, and secure transport connections
  • Provide overall system design, code, and configuration ownership
Operations & Administration Responsibilities
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve Rhapsody-related issues
  • Perform code debugging, fixes, and enhancements
  • Conduct routine Rhapsody maintenance and version upgrades
  • Apply server patches and restart Rhapsody applications as needed
  • Install, renew, and manage HESB and application certificates
  • Monitor and manage error queues, hold queues, and system alerts

Reprocess failed messages and resolve latency or response issues
  • Generate latency, response, and monthly status reports
  • Support production issue resolution and code migration
  • Manage system memory, storage, and performance
  • Communicate with internal users and external systems regarding integration issues
Required Technical & Healthcare IT Skills
  • JavaScript programming
  • SQL
  • XML
  • HL7 version 2.x messaging
  • HL7 FHIR
  • CDA standards and related document types
  • Healthcare vocabularies: LOINC, SNOMED, Rx Norm
  • Health Information Exchange (HIE) technologies
  • Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) standards
  • Implementing solutions based on formal Implementation Guides
Preferred Rhapsody Experience
  • Health Rhapsody Integration Engine (7.x or newer)
  • Rhapsody Developer Kit (RDK) for custom filters and mappers
  • Message payload translation across multiple formats (JSON, XML, HL7, proprietary formats)
  • Web services and transport protocols (SOAP, REST, OAuth, TCP, LLP)
  • Transport security and encryption (TLS, certificate-based mutual authentication)
Why This Role Matters

Without this position, MDHHS integration projects supporting systems such as MDSS, EDRS, myHB/myHP, MCIR, MiHIN, and MPHI would face delays. This role directly supports DTMB’s ability to deliver prioritized enhancements and maintain mission-critical healthcare applications.
