About DTMB
The Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) supports the business operations of state agencies through services such as building management, information technology, centralized contracting, budget and financial management, space planning, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems.
About the positionAs a Senior IT Quality Assurance Analyst, the employee will serve as a software tester – ensuring system requirements are testable and accurately met, performing preliminary ADA/SOM Standards reviews of systems, assisting with application vulnerability security scanning, and ensuring DTMB and vendor partners deliver a quality‑tested solution to agencies. This position advocates for adherence to SOM PSPs and supports secure access, use and storage of data, while working closely with business partners to uphold quality standards across IT systems, websites, web applications, mobile sites and applications.
Responsibilities- Ensure system requirements are testable and accurately met.
- Perform preliminary ADA/SOM Standard reviews of systems.
- Assist with application vulnerability security scanning.
- Ensure DTMB and vendor partners deliver a quality‑tested solution to agencies.
- Advocate for adherence to SOM PSPs, securing data access, use and storage.
- Coordinate efforts between technical and business teams across DNR, EGLE, MDARD and DMVA.
- Provide application and customer support to client agencies.
- Provide technical support to team members and evaluate new development tools.
- Document and inform DTMB management and client agencies of impacts and risks due to legislation, enhancement requests or process changes.
- Participate in development and implementation of client agency IT strategic direction.
- Mentor other DTMB staff on Quality Assurance best practices.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or more of: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics.
- Associate's degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in computer science, information assurance, data processing, computer information, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, IT project management or mathematics, plus two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator or IT technician; or two years (4,160 hours) as an Information Technology Student Assistant.
- Alternatively, high school diploma with four years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, IT technician or four years (8,320 hours) as an Information Technology Student Assistant.
Experience (Information Technology Programmer/Analyst 12 level)
- Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11.
Location:
Lansing, MI. Candidates must confirm work location and schedule. This position offers a hybrid work option: two days on‑site and three days remote per week.

This position may be eligible for a sign‑on bonus up to $2,500, payable in two installments (up to $1,250 upon hire and the remainder after a 12‑month probationary period). This does not apply to current state employees.
