Job Description
Position:
Technical and Application Infrastructure Specialist for the Michigan Enterprise Identity and Access Management (MiLogin) solution. The specialist is the multi-disciplinary authority responsible for design, planning, implementation, and support of the State of Michigan infrastructure for MiLogin, ensuring all solution applications, databases, and middleware environments are secure, reliable, scalable, and capable of handling large volumes of data and transactions. The role also aligns IT architecture with client agency business objectives and provides technical leadership to contractors, staff, and project teams.
- Design, plan, implement, and support the MiLogin infrastructure.
- Ensure security, reliability, and scalability of all solution applications, database, and middleware environments.
- Provide technical guidance and direction to contractors, staff, and infrastructure teams across all IT projects within the program scope.
- Deliver technical expertise to the DTMB Enterprise Architecture Core Team, managers, directors, program managers, project managers, and specialists.
Education
Possession of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with at least 21 semester (32 term) credits in computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management, or mathematics.
ExperienceThree years of professional experience in IT infrastructure or programming (P11 level), or one year of equivalent experience.

Education & Experience:
- Associate’s degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in the listed fields plus at least two years as an application programmer, computer operator, or IT technician and four years of professional experience equivalent to IT infrastructure or programmer/analyst P11, or 1 year of equivalent P12.
- Or, high school completion level with at least three years as an application programmer, computer operator, or IT technician and four years of equivalent professional experience.
- Michigan State Police background check with fingerprinting.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug test and, if applicable, physical examination.
- Criminal and driving record checks, as required.
The office location is Dimondale, MI. The Department offers a hybrid work option: two days on-site and three days remote per week.
BenefitsSign-on bonus up to $2,500: $1,250 paid upon hire and the remainder after a 12-month probationary period. This does not apply to current state employees.
