Network Security Engineer Overview

The Network Security Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and continuous improvement of perimeter security services across global data centers and cloud environments. This role focuses on firewall, proxy, and zero-trust solutions, ensuring secure, reliable connectivity while proactively identifying risks and driving improvements.

You will act as a key technical resource, collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, implement solutions, and support ongoing infrastructure initiatives, including coordination with teams supporting Operational Technology (OT) environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and support perimeter security technologies, including firewalls, proxies, and zero-trust platforms across on-prem and cloud environments
  • Administer and optimize solutions from key vendors such as Check Point (firewalls) and Zscaler (zero trust / proxy)
  • Install, configure, and maintain network security hardware and software
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability of services
  • Contribute to infrastructure projects, including design, deployment, and optimization of security solutions
  • Proactively identify risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities; propose and implement solutions
  • Maintain accurate documentation (architecture diagrams, procedures, runbooks)
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional IT teams, including coordination with OT security teams where network and industrial environments intersect
  • Provide support for service requests and incidents, and participate in on‑call rotation
YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT, with a strong focus on network security
  • Hands‑on experience with enterprise firewall technologies, preferably Check Point
  • Experience with secure web gateway / zero trust platforms, preferably Zscaler
  • Experience designing and deploying firewall solutions in data center environments (3+ years)
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or VMware NSX (2+ years)
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPNs)
  • Strong troubleshooting and operational support skills
WE VALUE
  • Experience supporting or collaborating with OT (Operational Technology) or industrial network environments
  • Experience working in global or multi‑data center environments
  • Familiarity with infrastructure documentation and standard operational processes
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with automation or scripting (e.g., Python, Power Shell)
  • Exposure to security frameworks and best practices
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Check Point, Zscaler, CCNP Security, CISSP)
