The Department of Technology, Management and Budget supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems.
About the PositionThe Security Analyst position works as a member of the Incident Response Team. It remediates cyber incidents and vulnerabilities while maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of State of Michigan data.
Sign-On BonusThis position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $2500. Up to $1250 will be paid upon new hire and the remainder after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period (12-month period). This does not apply to current state employees.
Position LocationThis position is located in Dimondale, MI. It may work a hybrid schedule (remote 3 days per week / office 2 days per week). Selected candidates who work a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.
EducationInformation Technology Programmer/Analyst 9:
Possession of an Associate's degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics.
Information Technology Programmer/Analyst 11/12:
Possession of a Bachelor's degree with 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics.
Information Technology Programmer/Analyst 9:
No specific amount or type is required.
Information Technology Programmer/Analyst 11:
No specific type or amount is required.
Information Technology Programmer/Analyst 12:
Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst 11.
Information Technology Programmer/Analyst 9:
Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, IT Technician, or 4160 hours of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.
Information Technology Programmer/Analyst P11-12:
Possession of an associate's degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, project management, or mathematics and two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician; or 4160 hours of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.
Or educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and four years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, information technology technician, or 8320 hours of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.
Certain positions may require certification in specific information technology programs.
Background CheckMichigan State Police background check will be required, including fingerprinting for state and federal criminal background records. The background check search will include, but is not limited to, arrests, criminal charges, criminal convictions, and contact with a criminal justice agency.
