Overview

We’re growing rapidly and are looking for a Senior Power BI Developer to work in Lansing, MI. Hybrid work environment, on‑site one day per week. The role involves data analysis and modeling, developing dashboards and reports, collaborating with stakeholders, and performing data integration across ERP systems.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Power BI, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and/or Advantage Intelligence to support stakeholder decision‑making.
  • Maintain enterprise semantic models using star schema and best‑practice data‑modeling techniques for scalable, reusable reporting across ERP domains.
  • Analyze complex datasets from ERP and related systems, build data models, and create optimized queries using SQL, DAX, and related tools.
  • Perform performance tuning by optimizing relationships, cardinality, and query efficiency for large‑scale ERP datasets.
  • Partner with government agency stakeholders to understand reporting requirements, translate business needs into technical specifications, and deliver solutions that drive operational insight.
  • Administer Power BI Service environments, including workspace management, data gateway configuration, dataset refresh monitoring, and deployment pipelines across Development, Test, and Production environments.
  • Work with ERP data structures, data warehouses, and cloud platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure SQL) to design and support data integration pipelines that feed reporting solutions.
  • Configure and support ERP‑native reporting within Advantage, including custom queries and standard report templates.
  • Develop test plans, validate data accuracy across source systems and reports, and ensure compliance with government audit requirements.
  • Configure, validate, and govern Row‑Level Security (RLS) and Object‑Level Security (OLS) for role‑based access control.
  • Create documentation, conduct training sessions, and support end‑user adoption of reporting tools and self‑service BI capabilities.
  • Stay current on BI trends, evaluate new tools, and recommend enhancements to improve reporting efficiency and insight quality.
Qualifications
  • 3‑8 years of hands‑on experience with business intelligence, reporting, or data analytics.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including report design, DAX calculations, data modeling, and dashboard development.
  • Experience implementing RLS and OLS in Power BI to enforce role‑based access and government compliance.
  • Working knowledge of SQL for querying relational databases (SQL Server, Postgre

    SQL, Oracle, or similar).
  • Familiarity with data‑warehouse concepts and dimensional modeling.
  • Exposure to cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Azure SQL, or AWS Redshift.
  • Understanding of ERP data structures and reporting needs; experience with CGI Advantage, SAP, Oracle, Workday, or similar ERP reporting is highly valued.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a detail‑oriented approach to data accuracy and quality.
  • Excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Administration, or related field (equivalent experience may be considered).
Desired Skills
  • Government domain knowledge (public sector operations, government financial reporting, or HR/payroll data).
  • Experience with CGI Advantage, SAP, Oracle, Workday, or similar ERP reporting.
Compensation

Reasonable estimate: $69,700.00 – $ (U.S.).
