Description
Our client seeks a Business Analyst / Quality Assurance Analyst. This position functions as part of an Agile team with heavy understanding and usage of the Azure Dev Ops tool as part of the required skillset.

NOTE: Lansing, MI (Local candidates ONLY. Must be located within 1 hour of Lansing, MI at time of submission. Relocation is not allowed. Resource will be working a hybrid schedule. No remote-only option. Must be onsite from day 1, two days a week (required in-person days are Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Must work 8 hours per day in office on those two days, no exception.)
The first month of work will require onsite presence 5 days per week for onboarding.) Candidates must be US Citizen or Permanent Residents to apply.
- Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
- Develop process flows, use cases, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
- Translate business needs into technical specifications for development teams.
- Create test plans, test scenarios, and detailed test cases based on requirements.
- Execute functional, integration, and regression testing; log and track defects.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and coordinate with business partners.
- Validate that delivered solutions meet documented requirements and quality standards.
- Collaborate with developers, project managers, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
- Assist with system demonstrations, training materials, and production validation.
- Ensure documentation remains accurate and updated throughout the project lifecycle.
- Gathering, documenting, and testing clear, unambiguous business requirements from the client.
- Understand the business requirements thoroughly in order to communicate business needs and system functionality to technical and non-technical stakeholders, project team members, and the user community.
- Serves as the Scrum Master (heavy usage of Azure Dev Ops tool) on projects and coordinates with the PMO's Project Manager for artifacts/documentation needed on State of Michigan projects.
- Working with the project team and stakeholders to examine existing and future-state business processes, data, and systems. This information is used to guide the gathering of business requirements and executing test cases as they relate to the desired system functionality.
Skills and Abilities
Required
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication.
- 3 years' experience Business Analyst (Must have both BA and QA experience)
- 3 years' experience Quality Assurance Analyst (Must have both BA and QA experience)
- 3 years' experience Azure Dev Ops Knowledge - or similar tool like JIRA (comfortable with creating epics/features/user stories for projects as well as moving cards through project lifecycle)
- 3 years' experience Understanding of BA, QA, DEV roles/responsibilities
- 3 years' experience with as-is/to-be processes and content creation
- 3 years' experience with creating product roadmap
- 3 years' experience Familiarity with Project Management Methodologies/Agile
- 3 years' experience Adept with using BA/QA tools (e.g., FIGMA, Visio)
