System Analyst

Overview

This position requires on-site workdays of Tuesday and Wednesday, with 8 hours in the office on those days. The first month of work is on-site 5 days per week for onboarding. The ideal candidate will live within one hour of Lansing, MI.

The role functions as part of an Agile team with heavy usage of Azure Dev Ops. The System Analyst 3 is responsible for gathering, documenting, and testing clear, unambiguous business requirements from the client, and communicating business needs and system functionality to technical and non-technical stakeholders, project team members, and user communities. The System Analyst serves as the Scrum Master on projects and coordinates with the PMO Project Manager for required artifacts and documentation.

• Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
• Develop process flows, use cases, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
• Translate business needs into technical specifications for development teams.
• Create test plans, test scenarios, and detailed test cases based on requirements.
• Execute functional, integration, and regression testing; log and track defects.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and coordinate with business partners.
• Validate that delivered solutions meet documented requirements and quality standards.
• Collaborate with developers, project managers, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
• Assist with system demonstrations, training materials, and production validation.
• Ensure documentation remains accurate and updated throughout the project lifecycle.

• Business Analyst experience with at least 3 years in the role (within last 5 years).
• Quality Assurance Analyst experience with at least 3 years (within last 5 years).
• Azure Dev Ops knowledge or experience with a similar tool (e.g., JIRA); comfortable creating epics, features, and user stories and moving cards through the project lifecycle.
• Understanding of BA, QA, and DEV roles and responsibilities.
• Experience with as-is/to-be processes and content creation.
• Experience creating product roadmaps.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies, including Agile.
• Proficiency with BA/QA tools (e.g., Figma, Visio).
