The Business Analyst will partner closely with Product Owners, business stakeholders, project leadership, and delivery teams to support discovery, business process analysis, user acceptance testing (UAT), training readiness, and Azure Dev Ops (ADO) backlog management activities. This role serves as a bridge between business operations and technical delivery teams to ensure solutions align with business needs and are successfully adopted by end users.
Job DutiesBusiness Analysis & Process Modeling
- Develop process maps, workflow diagrams, and business operating procedures.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and operational impacts.
- Identify and document manual processes, workarounds, and exception-handling procedures.
- Develop end-to-end business and system interaction diagrams.
- Partner with Product Owners to refine and maintain product backlogs.
- Assist in developing user stories and defining acceptance criteria by gathering, analyzing, and clarifying business requirements.
- Provide recommendations on requirements traceability and business validation.
- Coordinate UAT execution activities with business stakeholders.
- Track test execution, results, defects, and acceptance decisions.
- Support end-to-end business process testing and release readiness assessments.
- Assist with documenting UAT evidence and acceptance recommendations.
- Support training plans and end-user training materials.
- Create job aids, quick reference guides, and process documentation.
- Support stakeholder readiness, communication, and adoption activities.
- Facilitate training sessions and knowledge transfer activities.
- Support backlog traceability between requirements, testing, and implementation.
- Assist with ADO dashboards, reporting, queries, and documentation.
- Create and maintain project documentation, requirements artifacts, process, training and reference guide documentation.
- Document business rules, validation rules, and exception processing requirements.
- Support project compliance with organizational delivery methodologies and governance requirements.
- Maintain documentation repositories, knowledge bases, and project wikis.
- Experience gathering requirements from user
- Experience designing technical and business requirement documentation
- Experience with Agile methodology / SCRUM processes and ceremonies
- Experience maintaining and organizing Epics, Features, User Stories, and Tasks using Azure Dev Ops backlog management tools (Kanban board, Sprint board, etc.).
- Document current-state and future-state business processes.
- Develop UAT strategies, test scenarios, and business validation plans
- Experience using Azure Dev Ops for backlog and work item management
- Experience supporting Product Owners in Agile delivery environments.
- Experience developing UAT plans, scenarios, and business validation strategies.
- Experience creating training plans, training materials, and operational readiness documentation.
- Experience facilitating business process analysis and workflow modeling utilizing tools like Bizagi.
- Strong stakeholder facilitation, communication, and documentation skills.
- Experience with large-scale government, healthcare, financial, or enterprise system implementations preferred.
- Experience documenting complex business program area integrations and data flows
- Bachelor's Degree
- Candidates must be local to the Lansing, Michigan area (within 90 miles) at time of submission. This requirement is non-negotiable
- Position is a hybrid schedule (Non-Negotiable):
There is no remote-only option. Required onsite days
- Wednesdays and Thursdays. Remote eligible days
- Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. The resource must meet these requirements from the beginning. - Working hours Monday-Friday, approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
