We are seeking a skilled Server Administrator to support and maintain our enterprise IT infrastructure by ensuring the stability, security, and performance of server and workstation environments. This role is responsible for administering physical and virtual servers, managing Microsoft 365 and Active Directory environments, implementing security updates, maintaining backups, and troubleshooting hardware and software issues. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer support.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor the health, performance, and availability of enterprise server and workstation infrastructure.
- Administer and maintain Windows server environments, including physical and virtual servers.
- Perform routine server maintenance, including software installations, upgrades, security patching, and firmware updates.
- Manage backup and disaster recovery processes to ensure business continuity.
- Configure, administer, and support Microsoft Office 365 environments, including user access and licensing.
- Manage Active Directory, including user provisioning, account maintenance, password resets, group policies, and access management.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain virtualization platforms and virtual machines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve server, workstation, hardware, software, and network-related issues while documenting root causes and resolutions.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and IT processes to support operational consistency and compliance.
- Monitor system logs, alerts, and resource utilization to proactively identify and resolve performance issues.
- Collaborate with internal IT teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to implement infrastructure improvements and support business initiatives.
- Maintain hardware inventory and assist with equipment lifecycle management.
- Ensure IT systems remain secure by applying security patches, monitoring vulnerabilities, and following cybersecurity best practices.
- Prioritize and manage multiple technical support requests while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Participate in infrastructure projects, technology upgrades, and system implementations.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 3+ years of experience administering enterprise server environments.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration and enterprise IT infrastructure.
- Hands‑on experience supporting Microsoft Office 365 / Microsoft 365 environments.
- Experience administering Active Directory, including user account management and Group Policy.
- Experience managing physical and virtual server environments.
- Strong troubleshooting experience with server hardware, desktop hardware, operating systems, and enterprise applications.
- Understanding of server monitoring, backup solutions, and disaster recovery processes.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment.
- Strong customer service mindset with the ability to support both technical and non‑technical users.
- Experience with VMware, Hyper‑V, or other virtualization platforms.
- Experience with Microsoft Exchange Online and Azure Active Directory (Entra ).
- Knowledge of Power Shell scripting and automation.
- Familiarity with network fundamentals including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and VPN technologies.
- Experience with endpoint management solutions such as Intune or SCCM.
- Experience with backup and recovery solutions such as Veeam or similar technologies.
- Industry certifications such as Microsoft, VMware, CompTIA Server+, Network+, or Azure Administrator are a plus.
